Song for the Mute

Song for the Mute was founded in Sydney, Australia in 2010, headed by co-founders Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty.

Placing the utmost significance on fabrics, the pair creates the concept and feeling of each new collection from this foundation. The intention is to share their own stories and experiences through the form of garments to connect with the wearer. This story and fabric driven approach in design earned them the Australian Designer of the Year award and international acclaim.

 

SFTM x Sven Väth

Song for the Mute present a special collaboration with Sven Väth to coincide with the legendary COCOON IBIZA 20th anniversary – a reflection on 20 years of music that mattered. Featuring key SFTM shapes executed in special fabrics that act as a reflection of his past music history. Using polaroids and object scans, a special collage was designed by the Creative Director, Lyna Ty, to create an all-over digital print fabric.

The collection is available in-store from 15th November 2019 onwards.

The collaboration features a special soundtrack curated by Sven only for this project, with a limited print run of 200 7-inch vinyl distributed to a limited selection of stores globally.
